NOTES ON NARRATIVES SO FAR

What's been put up so far has been really GREAT. I just wish there was more. but a few comments

LESS WORDS MORE IMAGES
- this isn't always the case, but in general the intention is that these posts are produced quickly, with the logic that we can then produce more. We are really talking QUANTITY over QUALITY for these. - again with the intention that later on things get tightened up (in the form of you final presentation.)

think of these narrative like SKETCHES. consider writing in outline form. Efficiency is the idea, and while it takes a long time to write things out, it also takes a long time to read things that took a long time to write. people are less likely longer posts.

HEADINGS - because the IDEA is to get way too many posts that a single person reads, you want to think about your heading that you use for your posts - you want it either to be descriptive of what you are talking about, or catchy (and hopefully both).

I'll have some more comments later. but in general I am not going to be able to READ and COMMENT on every post. its just "TOO MUCH" - well, hopefully. I think I still outnumber the rest of the class in terms of posts.

  1. With all dues respect, I am rather confused by the idea that you will not have enough time to read and comment on every narrative posted. I would ask, as a PAYING student, that you find some time, perhaps instead of posting so much yourself, to read the narratives that we post, since it is our education that is the basis for this class and project. We are exploring these narratives in the hopes of getting feedback from both you and our fellow students, to aid us in the production of ideas and work. And if you are not reading them and aiding our process, then why exactly are we paying for this class?

It is wonderful to recieve feedback from our peers and generate new ideas after seeing the directions others are exploring, but one of the reasons for enrolling in a CLASS is to receive guidance and feedback from a professional. If this is not happening, then we are at an extreme disadvantage here.

Again, I do not mean disrespect in this, I am just wholeheartedly confused by your statement and in the spirit of honesty and transparency, thought this needed to be addressed.

  2. I agree with Kristen, We had a specific discussion about recieving critique from our peers as well as you on thursday. I feel as though you disregarded that conversation completely. We need feedback not just from our peers but also from the individual who has done these kinds of things before. I dont think it makes sense for the blind to lead the blind.
