So heres the idea, im going to take this photo of brain neurons, and turn it into my section, basically. Im going to alter the sizes of some of the neurons to show different sized spaces. The red thready looking stuff, is going to be the circulation. The idea is there are multiple ways to enter and exit the spaces, you could walk around the whole museum in different directions, and possibly not see everything. The other thought is that you enter the spaces from different directions, giving you alternative views of whatever may be inside the space. This is kind of how you can look at Red Hook. Entered from different locations and only seeing certain things can give you a false impression.
That sounds like a really interesting idea to me, but maybe you want to not only use this image?
ReplyDeleteIf you take a bunch of these neuron type images and overlay them and keep tracing you might find better results...
it reminds me of the lecture with the fluid dynamics and algorithms. (sp?) i think it would make a really interesting "organic" looking building and def something that id want to visit if built. the relationship back to the site is pretty solid too, its all about that first impression.
